Its Raining, its pouring....but you still have to go to school!

Day 3 of the Handmade School Year and today it was raining cats and dogs. So, unfortunately, today's outfit picture is from in my sewing room. Yesterday was only .01" away from being our heaviest rainfall amount ever. I never knew Georgia could be like Washington, but wow it has been a wet wet summer. We haven't even turned on our sprinklers this year and our grass is still green. After the rain blew through the temperature was awesome, almost cool. Made for great cross country weather for the kids practice.

So, onto to today's outfit. We are sticking with SIG Creations today for our skirt. It is the SIG Millie and is a paperbag waisted skirt with a sash sewn into the side seams. I embellished a Jerzees black tshirt with an oversized big and coordinating ruffle on the outer edge of the bib and down the center and then added three black buttons. She was still a cutie even though it was raining cats and dogs!

You can get the SIG Millie skirt here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/101985035/instant-download-sig-millie-skirt?ref=sr_gallery_6&ga_search_query=sig+skirt&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=sig+skirt It goes to a size 14. As far as the skirt, it was kind of a wing it as I went thing. I made a pattern from freezer paper and fused my dot fabric to some wonder under, ironed it on my shirt and then zig-zag stitched around the bib. The I cut some 1.5" strips of my skirt fabric, ruffled it down the center and stitched it onto the skirt. Voila! Matching outfit!

Tomorrow is spirit day, so no outfits until Monday which gives me time to work on more! I hope you have a blessed and restful weekend and I hope to see you back here Monday for our 2nd week of school!

Till next time,
Christie
