Our Version of a MINNIE Dress

Outfit 93 - 2013-14 School Year

So, we are back to our regularly scheduled program after Dr. Seuss interrupted us yesterday. So, as I mentioned, I am going to be doing some Disney inspired sewing over the next few weeks as we prepare for our Disney trip/cruise. This week is kicking that off.

Today I am going to let you see the closest thing to a Mini Dress you will ever catch her in as long as she is in our house - and this dress is actually a MINNIE dress :) I used the Whimsy Couture Enchanted Pattern https://www.etsy.com/listing/178612869/whimsy-couture-sewing-patterntutorial?ref=shop_home_active_1&ga_search_query=enchanted.

This dress goes from 9m - 11/12 and has several sleeve options. To make it MINNIE-fied, I used a hot pink and white polka dot and a black and white polka dot  with a white on white dot underskirt. This dress isn't hard to make, just kind of time consuming with all of the gathering. However, the effect is gorgeous. Check out these pictures and don't be surprised if you don't start feeling 'MAGICAL' by the time you are done ;)

AND we went to the orthodontist day and guess what - NO MORE HEADGEAR! She will be getting her full set of braces on March 26th (right before the Disney trip - eeek - might be buying lots of ice cream at the parks.)

On a side note, my son has started his inspirational blog back up. If you need a pick me up, visit www.gwjinspiration.blogspot.com.

Come back tomorrow for a super fun Disney Inspiration! I love sewing these fun outfits :) See you tomorrow!

  1. That is FANTASTIC! We're planning a trip sometime before May & I think my Lil'Miss {pictured in the WC photo above! ;o) } will "need" one of those. HaHa ~ she is up for ANY excuse to have another 'Enchanted'. THANKS for the inspiration!

    1. I loved it and so did everyone at school and the orthodontist :) It would probably be a dinner dress since it is heavy. I don't think she would want to haul it around the park all day :) But it sure is pretty! If you make one, let me know. I would love to see it! Thank you for stopping by!
