Boho Hump Day

Outfit 77 - 2013-14 School Year

Ugh - don't you hate when you get Blog Title writer's block. I had no idea what to title today's blog post - so I went with what came into my head first :) If you have one better, let me know and I may change it!

So, today I am featuring a pattern from a designer I just got to know last week. If you saw the post last week, you may have noticed, I fell in love with the Brownie Goose Cricket dress https://www.etsy.com/listing/174231043/bg-originals-crickets-dress-and-tunic?ref=shop_home_active_2. After that love of a pattern, I knew I would be back and back I am. Today we are featuring the Betsy dress

And, as I figured - it didn't fail me. You should really check out her Etsy page. Her patterns are fun with all kinds of  laugh breaks. They are well written and sew up beautifully. I even broke out my Anna Maria Horner fabric and didn't flinch as I cut it even though I didn't do a muslin for this first. I didn't do the pocket and I did add a trim around the waist seam. I also took her advice and added some width for fullness in the skirt. It is a little shorter than it should have been because I didn't have quite enough yardage for the prescribed length. I think its about 3" shorter or so. It still is a fine length for a longer tunic and I paired it with some cute denim-esque leggings from Naartjie.

So, I present our Brownie Goose Betsy dress! WARNING - this is pic heavy and I can't blame the hubs - this shoot turned out lovely. (Cowboy hat was not worn to school. Darn those no hat rules.)

Thank you for stopping by and we hope to see you tomorrow!

  1. Beautiful top and pictures! The colors in the fabrics are just amazing, especially with the sunset. And I love the use of the lace--definitely completes the top! I've pinned it to the Snowflakes & Lace Series Pinterest Board that Sewing Mama RaeAnna and I started for our lace series that ended last week. Again, great job!
