No Sleep Til.....Brooklyn!

Ok, well the no sleep is more of a reference to my spotty sleep these days. It's hard to get a good night sleep when you are sleeping semi-reclined. And Brooklyn, well that has to do with today's pattern!

Today, overall was a good day. It was my 29th birthday (again and again and again and a few more ;) Let's just say I'm closer to 40 than 30 ;)) The kids had a cross country meet and baby girl did not come in last. She told me that was her birthday present to me, to run fast. Bless her heart. And she did so good. She's probably never going to be a Flo Jo, but I'm so proud of her perseverance.

Remember we are taking it easy on the patterns these days. Well, this dress is easy by technique standards but there is a LOT of gathering which is hard on my left arm. Needless to say, though, I love how it came out. It is Create Kids Couture's Tween Brooklyn. You can find it here: http://www.createkidscouture.com/brooklyns_tween and here is their stock pattern picture for it:

I used more of the beautiful fabrics I got from Lindsay at The Cottage Mama destash sale (and doesn't that girl have some awesome taste in fabrics?? http://thecottagemama.com/)

The pictures started outside and moved in when the rain did. She actually had to wear a denim jacket with it to school this morning because the morning's are getting chillier. Hello, Fall!

Here is our Brooklyn girl in the tween sz 12

Yes, there is a lot of shirring, again, but really don't be afraid. Look at the links from yesterday's post and tackle that sucker head on. Love the Stretch rite elastic thread. It is not scary and is so cute!

This week we will only have three outfits. Our Headmaster is retiring this year and he promised to pick one day this school year where it was just too pretty to come to school and he picked Friday. So, our Friday spirit dress has been moved to Thursday. I can't say I'm complaining because I just got my 4th outfit for this week cut. I am moving really slowly now.

Friday is my next Drs appt. They are going to reXray my shoulder blade and see how the fracture is healing. Pray for some strong bone vibes. I mean I know it's not completely healed, but let's pray for progress!

Thank you for coming by! Tomorrow's dress is super cute. I hope you will stop in to see it.
